The Commission is responsible for receiving and resolving discrimination complaints under the Canadian Human Rights Act. The Commission deals with discrimination complaints against the federal government, First Nations governments, and private companies that are regulated by the federal government such as banks, trucking companies, and telecommunications companies.

Available free of charge. Service provided by phone or the website www.doyouknowyourrights.ca. In addition, an information guide is available on the website in English, French, Cree, Inuktitut and Ojibway.

● Complaints handling: processing of complaints for discrimination under the Canadian Human Rights Act. Available free of charge. Before filing a complaint, see the complaint-assessment tool on the organization’s website. To file a complaint, you must print the form and send it by e-mail or fax.

● Legal documentation service: brochures and publications on human rights in Canada. Available free of charge. Brochures and publications are provided on the website. Call the Commission or fill out a request form on line if you wish to receive a paper version.
