The Organisation d’éducation et d’information logement Côte-des-Neiges (ŒIL) is a non profit organization financed by Centraide and the Secrétariat à l’action communautaire autonome et aux initiatives sociales (SACAIS).
Founded in 1971, OEIL-CDN works at improving housing conditions in the Côte-des-Neiges district by providing information and support to tenants.
In a strongly multi-ethnic district with 85% of its 100,000 inhabitants residing in rental housing, the interventions and services of OEIL-CDN are essential in assisting underprivileged tenants and to combat housing deterioration and poverty.
Services
● Assistance in writing letters to landlords, assistance in preparing for a rental board hearing. Available free of charge. Service provided by phone and in person without an appointment. Visit during opening hours
● Door-to-door legal information service in the Côte-des-Neiges district on housing law. Available free of charge.
● Legal information session for community groups in the Côte-des-Neiges district on housing law. Information on tenant’s rights and recourses, complaints regarding the housing code. Available free of charge. Phone for details.
