Non-profit organization whose mission is defending the rights of social assistance recipients on an individual and collective basis. The association offers its activities and services in the city of Lévis and in the municipalities of the Bellechasse RCM.
An ADDS is there …
• to provide a meeting place to welcome all citizens of Québec City’s South Shore who feel aggrieved in their social rights.
• to enable social assistance recipients to consider together the actions to be taken.
• to combat prejudice and discrimination.
• to break out of isolation.
• to know and defend one’s rights more effectively.

POPULAR EDUCATION WORKSHOP: Training is essential. To act collectively on the causes of poverty and to change power relationships in society, any action must be preceded by joint consideration; the reverse is also true. Thinking on its own will never be enough to change the world unless we move ahead subsequently. The general goals pursued in the training sessions we provide and attend are :
• To encourage social assistance recipients to speak out on the issues affecting them;
• To become aware of the forms of oppression experienced by social assistance recipients;
• To break free of the prejudices and preconceived ideas conveyed by society;
• To promote moving from thought to action.
The workshops take an approach based on consciousness-raising and popular education and are created and led in keeping with a group’s needs and the context. Watch for proposed workshops by consulting the organization’s home page on a regular basis.
