R.O.M.E.L – Regroupement des organismes du Montréal ethnique pour le logement

Organisation profile

R.O.M.E.L’s initial role was to fulfill that mission, by gathering and centralizing all housing-related information and to consequently diffuse it to its founding organizations. And to offer training and workshops to the social agents working at the respective founding groups.

R.O.M.E.L ‘s mandate grew, so as to go beyond disseminating the information on housing , and to start actively working in the creation of social housing opportunities for the various cultural communities. Through this initiative R.O.M.E.L took the lead, in collaboration with other technical resource groups, in creating the first multiethnic housing cooperatives in Montréal.
