The primary mission of the Ordre des optométristes du Québec is to protect the public by ensuring compliance with the rules that apply to the practice of optometry in Québec by optometrists and other stakeholders. This mission is fulfilled through various processes and mechanisms, in particular as regards admission to practice, regulation, professional inspection, continuing training, discipline and suppression of illegal practice and misappropriation of title.
Services
• Legal information service on the investigation request process, the Professional Code and the Optometry Act. Available free of charge. Service provided by phone and through their website.
• Processing of investigation requests from the public. Available free of charge. To file a complaint, fill out the form on their website and sent it by e-mail or post to the address shown.
• Conciliation service for disputes with optometrists, including fees. Available free of charge. Service provided after receiving your investigation form, at the trustee’s discretion.
