Young Bar of Montreal (YBM) is a non-profit association which represents lawyers registered in Montréal, with ten years or less of call to the Barreau du Québec. One of the missions of YBM is to improve access to justice by providing free legal services to the public and organizing charity events. Overall, the YBM aspires to improve access to justice and give back to the community.

● “I’ll talk to my lawyer on Wednesday:” aimed at providing free legal advice for 12 to 20-year-olds, the service is provided by volunteer lawyers, members of the YBM,who ensure a non-judgmental and confidential handling of your questions. http://ajbm.qc.ca/en/public-services/ill-talk-to-my-lawyer-on-wednesday/
● “Corporate counsel:” Aimed at entrepreneurs seeking legal advice about a business start-up and its various legal aspects, this service includes an hour-long session with a volunteer lawyer, free of charge. ● “Preparation service for a hearing:” aimed at providing information about hearing preparation and proceeding to self-represented parties only, the service includes a twenty-minute appointment with a volunteer lawyer, free of charge. To qualify for the services, you must be representing yourself in court and you must have a scheduled hearing date before the Court of Québec, Small Claims Division, Régie du logement, Tribunal administratif du travail or the Court of Appeal of Québec. http://ajbm.qc.ca/en/public-services/preparation-service-for-a-hearing/. All these services are free of charge and available by appointment only. You can request a consultation by filling out the application form or by calling us. ● “Call-in Legal Clinic:” Twice a year the YBM gathers a hundred of lawyers to answer calls on legal issues. Whether it concerns family, consumer goods,work administration of the estate or other issues, volunteer lawyers are here to answer your questions.
